Owens Corning 703 Fiberglass Acoustic Board 2" (3#)
Brand : Owens Corning
- Unit Of Measure:
- Per Box (6 Panels / 48sf)
2" Owens Corning 703 Fiberglass Acoustical Board is the preferred product for use as the core insulation for acoustical wall and ceiling panels. The reasons for the popularity of the 2" 703 Rigid Fiberglass panels mainly has to due with the panels ability to absorb both Mid and High range frequencies while being lightweight, rigid, and economically priced. Owens Corning 703 Fiberglass Acoustical Board is made of 3# density fiberglass which allows the panels to be both lightweight and rigid. As the Acoustical Performance Chart shows below, 2" 703 Fiberglass Board is very good at absorbing both Mid and High range sound frequencies which makes it the ideal product for Acoustical wall / ceiling panels. 2" 703 Fiberglass panels can also be stacked to create thicker panels to better absorb Low frequencies in Bass Trap applications.
DIY ACOUSTICAL WALL/CEILING PANELS:
2" Owens Corning 703 Fiberglass panels are inserted into a 2ft x 4ft frame and then wrapped with acoustical transparent fabric and fastened to walls/ceilings with panel hardware. The 2" 703 panels can also be used to make frameless acoustical panels. Coat the perimeter edges and 4 corners of the fiberglass with No-Frame edge hardener, wrap the fabric directly over the rigid fiberglass panel.
For most acoustical applications, such as sound studios, control rooms, and home theaters, a 2" thickness is the best solution. The value in a 2" thick, rigid fiberglass panel is the lower cost per inch, and better acoustical performance. 2" Owens Corning 703 provides a NRC of 1.00 (Noise Reduction Coefficient) and will effectively absorb lower mid to high range frequencies.

Been looking for a place to get corning 703 for acoustic panels for months. Finally gave this site a shot and could not be happier with the product and the service. Before I ordered I reached out to customer service to see how long before it would ship and they told me the same day and it did. Received it just a few days later in perfect condition. Prices are good as well. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Arrived super fast and was in perfect condition. Will order again.
Great product for making acoustic panels. Company has great communication, fast shipping, and the best prices!
After much research and looking locally, I FINALLY found your website. Best prices for shipping that I could find and my 703 arrived very quickly. I have already ordered more but I know it wont end there. UPS shipped the boxes and everything was in fine shape when it arrived. THANKS!
Despite their fragile nature, these 2" thick panels arrived undamaged with just a tiny bit of compression on one corner of the topmost panel in the box. Awesome!
I constructed 6 sound absorbent room treatment panels with wooden frames and cloth covering and placed them around the room. The listening experience was transformed instantly once the panels were properly placed through a little experimentation.
This material needed a little bit of trimming to fit the frames that I made and it cuts cleanly and easily with a sharp knife.
I saved around $200 making the panels myself over the best priced pre-made panels I found online, and I got to use my own custom selected cloth color, so I'm very happy with the result. In my opinion, these panels need a rigid frame if you intend to cover them to keep the cloth tight.
After trying several products to improve the acoustic qualities in my basement music studio, I finally got to looking at the absorption %'s. I built a few wall panels with this product (haven't used my 4" for bass traps yet) and was amazed how effective they are. You can literally hear the effect by putting your head close while sound is happening. The ear closest has practically no reflection off the wall! Definitely worth the investment!
*Andrew, we are glad that you are happy with the OC703 Board! Putting your ear next to the board really does show how well these panels absorb sound. ~ BIP
I was buying all my insulation boards from ****** (local insulation supplier) who was as slow at getting me the material as a Chevy truck moves in mud after a monsoon. The fourth week they said its on order I had to tell them to cancel it and look on the www. I found more than a few sites that said they sold703 so I called them up to double check. The only site that answered on the first call and had it all in stock was this one. Do you have 30+ boxes of 703? Yes no problem, we will ship it out today was the girls response. 3 days later those boxes showed up at my shop. Even with pricey shipping I actually saved $$$. This site earned a new customer and **** lost one for good.
Bought 703 2" panels for my sound clouds that I built. I am very happy with the results. I am going to order more 703 for wall panels. Shopped around and I found BuyInsulationProducts.com was highly rated on blogs at where to get 703 insulation. Great price and quick shipping. I am very satisfied.
Bought panels for bass traps in a tracking room and the 703 tighten the room up instantly with only the corners being treated. Very impressed with the absorption the 703 has and its also a lot more cost effective than other alternative and less absorbent acoustic treatments. The cost savings plus the extremely quick shipping for BuyInsulationProducts.com is a win win!
**Gary, we are happy to hear your bass traps worked out nicely for you. ~ BIP
I own professional Post Production Recording studios in the San Francisco bay area. I was remodeling my VO recording suite and needed to treat the walls to control some mid reflections and bass bounce. Using the 703 was very easy and cost effective. I also had some extra panels made up on rollers to be able to place them in any situation that I might need.
My purchase from BuyInsulationProducts.com was easy and fast…!
Rather than buy pre-made bass traps, I decided to build my own. I doubled up on the 2 inch panels and built floor to ceiling traps for the four corners of my listening room. Wow, the control! Combined with acoustic foam, i have a much more controlled sound I am very pleased with the results and not to mention the fast shipping thank you buyinsulationproducts.com
