Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound

Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is a viscoelastic damping compound that is used between two layers of drywall in walls and ceilings to drastically dampen vibrations. Green Glue can also be installed between two layers of plywood in the subfloor to block sound transmission through floors/ceilings as well. By damping these vibrations, Green Glue compound is able to reduce the amount of sound transferring from one side of the structure to the other. Green Glue works so well due to the fact that it always remains in a tacky state. It will never dry out and become rigid like conventional adhesives. Adding an extra layer of 5/8" drywall with Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound to a standard wall will increase the STC rating by 12 points! (STC 40 to STC 52)
