Pipe Heating Cable for Pipe 18FT Long
Brand : Wrap-On
- Unit Of Measure:
This 18 ft. pipe heating cable prevents frozen water pipes to –50ºF. Simply wrap on, insulate and plug in. Engineered for use on metal and rigid plastic pipes. Uses an exclusive Press-To-Test button so you can test the electric water pipe heat cable before installing. A built-in thermostat turns the cable on at 38ºF. Proven low-wattage design uses up to 70 percent less energy than other electric water pipe heat cables and protects to –50ºF. An exclusive power sensor light glows when the thermostat is closed.
NOTE: Wrap cable around pipe approximately 2 times per foot for best results. We recommend that you wrap string around pipe to figure out length of cable needed. If you need more length, try our 80 ft. wrap on pipe heating cable.
For Energy Efficiency Make Sure to Insulate Pipe With Fiberglass Insulation with 1" Thickness (minimum)
works excellent, would recommend it for all cold area insulations
I bought this heating cable and split it between my hot and cold water pipes for my bathroom on my new extension. The pipes are extremely close so I just wrapped both pipes together. Last winter both pipes froze slightly and the water was running at low pressure. I am expecting this to stop that from happening again.
**Mark, Thank you for the review. I'm not sure if you insulated over the heat cable, but you want to make sure you do to keep the cable from running non-stop. Also, if you wrapped both pipes together, you may need to go with an oversize piece of pipe insulation. ~BIP
