Smooth Kote (Cal Coat 127) is a proprietary blend of hydraulic insulating cement, calcium silicate and inorganic mineral fibers, with corrosion inhibitors, that provides a smooth finish over high-temperature insulation. No wire mesh is required. It can also be used as a general-purpose insulating cement, as it is easy to trowel and resists wetting after initial application. One bag will cover a minimum of 30 sq. ft. at 1” (2.8 square meters at 25 mm) thick. Cal Coat 127 can be painted with water- or oil-based paints.

Due to its composition and low thermal conductivity, Cal Coat 127 (Smooth Kote) is recommended for finishing use with calcium silicate or perlite insulation in high-temperature piping and equipment applications. Because of Cal Coat 127's corrosion inhibiting properties, it is especially recommended as cement insulation for industrial processing and power generating facility applications using stainless steel piping and operating at temperatures up to 1200°F (649°C).

UOM: 45 pounds of cement per bag

    Good Cement, very big bag

Posted by Carmine C. on 12th Nov 2019

I bought this product for matching existing insulation cement on my piping fittings. It worked as described however its a very large bag and I only mixed about half of it. It was really easy to work with.

    Old Stock

Posted by Rajesh S. on 3rd Jul 2019

We received very old stock with no shelf life remaining. We expect you to provide material that is new or atleast a few months old.
We cannot use material that is more than a year old.

*Rajesh, the bags you received were made in May/2018 and your order was placed in June/2019. That is a little over a year old for a product that does not have a published shelf life. I would hardly consider that "very old stock". A Return Authorization has been emailed to you. ~BIP
