The Purple duct board tool is a handheld device that is used to carve out a Male Shiplap cut in fiberglass duct board. The Purple Duct Board Tool is used to make a male shiplap or reverse shiplap end cut.
The Purple kerfing tool can only be ordered for 1" thick Fiberglass Duct Board. Please refer to the Yellow Tool for 1-1/2" and 2" thick fiberglass duct board options.
The difference between the 1" Purple and the 1" Yellow tools is the width of the male shiplap cut. The Purple Tool cuts a narrower 7/8" wide cut while the Yellow Tool at 1" thickness cuts a 1-1/4" wide cut.
