Johns Manville Spin-Glas 814 FRK Fiberglass Acoustical Board is a 3# density fiberglass board with a FRK facing on one side. FRK faced 814 fiberglass board can be used in applications requiring thermal insulation (HVAC Ductwork) as well as acoustical sound absorption. Johns Manville Spin-Glas 814 is a great acoustical insulation core material for sound panels and bass traps.
For most acoustical applications, such as sound studios, control rooms, and home theaters, a 2" thickness is the best solution. The value in a 2" thick fiberglass panel is the lower cost per inch, and better acoustical performance. 2" 814 provides a NRC of 1.05 (Noise Reduction Coefficient) and will effectively absorb lower mid to high range frequencies. This product is sold in boxes of 6 panels. Each panel is 2 ft x 4 ft (2" thick). Each box contains a total of 96 square feet.
*FRK FACED: This is a Foil Reinforced Kraft paper facing on one side of the fiberglass board. (also known as FSK)

The 703 FRK is really good at returning high frequency into the room you are treating, I have 4" of plain 703 behind it, on a back wall, so 6" of 703 with a FRK face makes an awesomely good bass trap. My drums are full and pronounced, the cymbals are crisp and bright with long decay....
The products offered here are excellent for acoustic treatment applications, not the sorta stuff you find at Home Depot. Thanks, BIP for the great pricing and service. Everything was delivered on time and in perfect condition.
*Rick, thank you for the great review we are glad you are happy with the 703 products ~ BIP
